I’ve been working away on my 2019 Summer System - a plan I’ve been devising to help make sure our summer is fun, healthy, and as low stress as possible. At this stage of life, a little routine goes a long way, so I decided to try and get ahead of it before “cool mommy” becomes “scary mommy”. One of the never-ending requests I get during the summer is “snack, snack, snack, snack, snack” - can I get an “Amen,” here? This year, I’m going with a snack schedule and customized snack boxes - more about that next week. But to shape those plans, I needed a list of what snacks I was going to keep around for the summer - here it is.
Fresh Fruit - our go-to choices are strawberries, blueberries, apples, grapes and watermelon but I plan on switching it up some as well by having a lesser known option around each week - always trying to get them to try new things!
Veggies & Dip - any raw veggies will do and I’ll set out some ranch dip, hummus, or almond milk cream cheese as a snack tray they can visit while I prep dinner.
Cheese - our favorite is the original Babybel
GF Pretzels
Popcorn
Apple Sauce Squeeze Packs
Yogurt Tubes
Raisins
GF Fig Bars
Z-Bars
And because it’s SUMMERTIME… POPSICLES! Have you ever made your own popsicles? I’m thinking about trying this out using these popsicle molds but I’ll also do myself a favor and stock up on these low-sugar popsicle options - Outshine No Sugar Added Fruit Bars and Goodpop Organic Freezer Pops.
